Reservations, Reservation Fees & Cancellations

A deposit equal to one night’s rate will be charged at the time of booking. 5% GST and a 4% provincial tourism levy will be charged.

At least three full days’ notice (for motel rooms) or seven full days’ notice (for trailers and cabins) must be given for cancellations. If this notice is given, the deposit will be refunded less a $20.00 administration fee. There will be no refunds for reservations cancelled with less than 3 days’ notice. If guests don’t arrive by 2:00pm the day after the scheduled arrival date, the remainder of the reservation will be deemed cancelled with no refund.

Check-in & Checkout

Government-issued photo ID and a valid credit card (Visa, Mastercard, or American Express) must be provided at check-in.

Check-in time is 3p.m. Check-out time is 11a.m.

Minors

Guests under the age of 18 years are required to be accompanied by an adult.

Noise

Noise must be kept to a reasonable level at all times and is required to be minimized from 11p.m. to 7a.m.

Maximum Occupancies & Parking

Unless otherwise approved by management, maximum occupancies are 4 people for motel rooms (including children and adults).

Pets

Pets must be under control at all times and on leash when outside of motel rooms, trailers or cabins. Pets must not make excessive noise and must not be aggressive or destructive. Owners must clean up after pets immediately. Pets must not be left unattended except safely in motel rooms, trailers, or cabins, and must be kenneled and checked on regularly when left in one of these places. Pets (except service dogs with identification) are prohibited in public buildings.

A fee of $25.00 per pet will be charged (except for service dogs with identification).

Safety & Environment

This property is a natural area, with the hazards that come with such an environment. Guests must use and access the property in a safe and environmentally friendly manner. Any activities that damage or may damage plants, foliage, environmental features, wildlife, or any activities that are dangerous, are prohibited.

Guests are required to comply with all posted signage.

Guests will be required to sign a waiver upon arrival at the property.

Fires

Portable propane fire pits and gas or propane stoves and barbeques for cooking and heating are permitted, as are fires in designated fire pits. All other fires, including candles and torches, are prohibited. Only firewood from Alberta sources may be used in fire pits.

Fires must be safely contained and controlled at all times and must not be left unattended at any time. Fires must be extinguished fully before 11p.m. and shall not be started before 7a.m.

Smoking & Vaping

Smoking and vaping are prohibited except in designated areas. For clarification, smoking and vaping are prohibited in guests’ rooms.

Neighbouring Properties

The boundaries of the Schott’s Lake property are marked. Crossing into neighbouring property without the authorization of the property owner is prohibited.

Plumbing

The facility operates on a rural septic plumbing system. Flushing feminine hygiene products, diapers, baby wipes and any other products except for toilet paper may cause damage and is prohibited.

Off-Road Vehicles

The use of off-road motorized vehicles on the property is prohibited. Any such vehicles brought onto the property must be stored on trailers or in vehicles at all times.

Lost Items

Schott’s Lake RV and Guest Ranch Inc. is not responsible for any lost items.

Failure to Comply

Failure to comply with any of these Term and Conditions may result in refusal of access to the property or immediate eviction from the property without compensation and may also include claims for such damages.
