Now’s your chance to learn from a Red Seal Chef as he shows you how to prepare an incredible BBQ extravaganza!

From BBQ Citrus Chicken, Grilled Ribeye, and Vegetable Foil Packs to Grilled Flatbread, and even dessert, with a Raspberry Crisp Skillet! If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to BBQ, now is your chance, all with the backdrop of our beautiful Schott’s Lake!

What does your agenda look like? First we start with Grilled Homemade Flatbread:  

  • Dough preparation 
  • Rising the dough and adding flavours  

Then we dive into preparing the BBQ Citrus Chicken: 

  • How to butcher a chicken 
  • Creating a homemade BBQ marinade
  • What does proper storage, cooking, and testing for doneness for BBQ Chicken look like? Food safety if very important to us, so we’ll be sharing our standards with you 
  • Also, what not to do (tearing into chicken causes moisture loss) and when to add the BBQ sauce 

We need to add some wonderful Vegetable Foil Packs to the mix, so we’ll cover: 

  • Knife skills – cutting vegetables like a chef
  • Marinating & building your vegetable foil pack 
  • What kind of vegetable should you choose for a BBQ vegetables foil pack?
  • The importance of not putting foil pack over direct high heat 

And who doesn’t want dessert? So let’s make a Raspberry Crumble Skillet 

  • Lets make a raspberry filling! 
  • how to make the topping 
  • Dressing it up! *Chef talk for making it look fancy 😉

While all that’s cooking, let’s top it off with a Grilled Ribeye, cause we’re hungry!

  • How to choose and trim the right steaks to BBQ 
  • How to properly season a steak
  • Explanation on marbling and its importance for grilling
