Terms & Conditions

Reservations, Reservation Fees & Cancellations

Payment in full will be charged at the time of booking in addition to a non-refundable reservation fee of $5.00 for online bookings and $10.00 for telephone or email bookings. 5% GST will be charged.

During long weekends the minimum booking period is 2 nights.

At least three full days’ notice must be given for changes or cancellations. If this notice is given, the pre-payment will be refunded excluding the original reservation fee and an additional $10 cancellation fee. There will be no refunds for reservations cancelled less than three days before arrival. If guests do not arrive by 2:00pm the day after the scheduled arrival date, the remainder of the reservation will be deemed cancelled with no refund. 

If management closes the campground, all fees including reservation fees will be refunded. Refunds will not be given for weather, wildlife, insects, water, air quality, fire or liquor bans, vehicle or trailer trouble, getting lost, closed amenities, or advisories.

Check-in & Checkout

Government-issued photo ID must be provided at check-in. Check in is from 3p.m. at the guard house prior to setting up campsites. Checkout time is 11a.m.

Minors

Guests under the age of 18 years are required to be accompanied by an adult.

Noise

Noise must be kept to a reasonable level at all times and is required to be minimized from 11p.m.–7a.m.

Maximum Occupancies & Parking

Unless otherwise approved by management, the maximum occupancy for campsites is 6 people. Only one sleeping quarter (tent or RV) is permitted per campsite. One motor vehicle may be parked at the campsite with additional parking available at the main lodge.

Pets

Pets must be under control at all times and on leash when outside of private RVs or tents. Pets must not make excessive noise nor be aggressive or destructive. Owners must clean up after pets immediately. Pets must not be left unattended except safely in private RVs. If left in RVs, pets must be checked on regularly. Pets (except service dogs with identification) are prohibited in public buildings.

Safety & Environment

This property is a natural area with hazards that come with the environment. Guests must use and access the property in a safe and environmentally friendly manner. Any activities that may damage plants, foliage, environmental features, wildlife and are dangerous activities are prohibited.

Guests are required to comply with all posted signage and must sign a waiver upon arrival at the property.

Fires

Portable propane fire pits, gas or propane stoves, barbecues for cooking and fires in designated fire pits are permitted. All other fires, including candles and torches, are prohibited. Only firewood from Alberta sources may be used in fire pits.

Fires must be safely contained and controlled at all times and may not be left unattended at any time. Fires must be extinguished fully before 11p.m. and shall not be started before 7a.m.

Smoking & Vaping

Smoking and vaping are prohibited outside of designated areas.

Neighbouring Properties

The boundaries of the Schott’s Lake property are marked. Crossing into neighbouring property without the authorization of the property owner is prohibited.

Plumbing

The facility operates on a rural septic plumbing system. Flushing feminine hygiene products, diapers, baby wipes and any other products except for toilet paper may cause damage and is prohibited.

Off-Road Vehicles

The use of off-road motorized vehicles on the property is prohibited. Any such vehicles brought onto the property must be stored on trailers or in vehicles at all times.

Lost Items

Schott’s Lake Conference and Resort is not responsible for any lost items.

Failure to Comply

Failure to comply with any of these Term and Conditions may result in refusal of access to the property or immediate eviction from the property without compensation and may also include claims for such damages.
